Introduction Non-adherence to medications is considered as one of the largest drug related issues. WHO states that non-adherence to medications is a " worldwide problem of striking magnitude. " 1 Poor medication adherence can cause negative health outcomes such as worsening disease or even death and studies showed that there was an association between poor adherences to medications indicated for chronic diseases with health resources utilization. 2 Poor medication adherence also may result in increased health care cost. There are 33%-69% of drug-related hospital admissions in US are because of poor medication adherence, along with a cost of about $100 billion a year.
